[Archived] Getting Error While Running EIM, GenNewDb Job :SBL-SVR-01014: Internal: Could not send the HELLO message: (null) (Doc ID 1586633.1)

Symptoms

On : 8.0.0.10 SIA [20436] version, EIM

When attempting to run EIM job,
the following error occurs.

ERROR

run task for comp EIM with config=/siebel/vfqprd/siebsrvr/admin/attachments1.ifb
SBL-ADM-60070: Error reported on server 'siebsrv1' follows:
SBL-SVR-01014: Internal: Could not send the HELLO message: (null)
SBL-NET-01023: Peer disconnected

Below error continuously reported in enterprise log for comp ServerScheduler.

Created server process (OS pid = 12275 ) for SrvrSched
ServerLog ProcessExit 1 000025fa52372a91:0 2013-09-17 09:56:58 <NoCompName> 12275 SBL-GEN-00255   Process 12275 exited with error - Internal: Error during exec()

Changes

Ask customer to gather truss output following below steps.

kindly collect following "truss" information we need from the affected Siebel Server, using Unix shell command prompt:
 a) make sure the Siebel Server is running

 b) login on Unix machine of Siebel Server  as Siebel Service user (owner of the ".../siebsrvr/bin/siebsvc" file)

 c) do the "ps -ef | grep siebsvc" command to identify the OS Process Id which has the options string "siebsvc -s siebsrvr...".
This will be the Siebel Server Scheduler process, which reports the "exec" system call failure to run the ".../siebsrvr/binsiebshmw" binary file

 d) do the " strace -v -f -s 1024 -o -o  /tmp/EIMtruss.txt -p <pid>" command, where the <PId> is the process Id of the Siebel Server Scheduler
 NOTE: this command will start to collect "truss" system call traces into the "/tmp/EIMtruss.txt" (you may user other folder for this file)
 NOTE-2: at the successful attachment to the process, the "truss" will hang, tracing all system calls into the given file

 e) start the EIM task (using srvmgr command running in the OTHER command prompt session or Siebel UI View - Siebel Server Management)

 f) check for the EIM error, 'SBL-SVR-01014: Internal: Could not send the HELLO message: (null)'

 g) type the <Ctrl>+<C>   to terminate the truss program

Attach the 'EIMtruss.txt' output for us to review.
