Case Insensitive Search Does Not Work On Mobile Client - SBL-DBC-00105 - Column not found error (Doc ID 1598114.1)

Symptoms

We are performing Siebel upgrade to 8.1.1.10 and moving our mobile clients to Open UI. Unexpectedly we found that the Case Insensitive search (CIAI) doesn't work on mobile clients with Siebel 8.1.1.10. There is no problem with web clients, it works on Siebel 8.1.1.10 servers. Required function indexes have been created in Oracle DB. But all our attempts to make to work the functionality were unsuccessful.

We use the standard CIAI wizard for it. In the repository required pseudo columns (_CI) have been created as well as indexes. The repository apply has been performed in DB. We run generate new database and all mobile users have been re-extracted. We put WATCOM_CIAI_FUNC = CIAI_UPPER in CFG file under [Siebel] section. But when we try to perform search Siebel pops-up an error message that a required _CI column isn't found.

The error is the following:

Please continue or ask your systems administrator to check your application configuration if the problem persists.(SBL-DBC-00105)
[2] Column 'X_TT_NAME_CI' not found

The issue is reproducible in both UI, Standard HI and Open UI.
