Open UI: It is still possible to choose a search field when the MVG applet is in query mode (Doc ID 1622977.1)

Last updated on MARCH 02, 2017

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 8.1.1.11 SIA [23030] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

The customer is using Siebel 8.1.1.11 SIA in Open UI mode and observed that the query assistant, which is integrated in pop-up-applets for multi-value fields, doesn't become really read-only in Open UI, when the query mode is started.
If the applet is in the query mode you can see that it is still possible to choose a search field in the (Find:) field. The field (Starting with:) is white not greyed out. There is no optical signal for the end user, that the field has changed to read-only. Only the "Go" button is read only.

REPLICATION STEPS:
==================
1. Go to Accounts > Accounts List
2. Drill down on the Name of an account.
3. In the "SIS Account Entry Applet" applet click on the glyph of the MVG field "Account Team".
4. The "Account Team Mvg Applet" applet appears. Click on the "Show Available" button.
5. Here you could perform a search in the search fields by choosing the name of the field (Find:) and the search string (Starting with:) and then click on "Go" button.
6. If you click on the "Query" button you will be able to perform a query and the query mode starts.
7. If the applet is in the query mode you can see that it is still possible to choose a search field in the (Find:) field. The field (Starting with:) is white not greyed out. There is no optical signal for the end user, that the field has changed to read-only. Only the "Go" button is read only.
8. Even if the query should be performed by typing the query criteria in the fields from below, the users are confused because it is still possible to choose a search field in the (Find:) field.

Due to the encountered behavior in OpenUI the end users are confused when the MVG applet is in query mode.

In Siebel 8.1.1.11 SIA [23030] ENU in High Interactivity (HI) mode all is working well: when the MVG applet is in the query mode all search fields and "Go" button are read-only and the users are not confused because it is not possible to choose a search field in the (Find:) field.

The customer wants in OpenUI the same behavior as in the High Interactivity (HI) mode - so that the users are not confused any more.
