'UnMerge' Button Not Working with error 'ORA-01407: cannot update ("SIEBEL"."S_CONTACT"."ACTIVE_FLG") to NULL ' (Doc ID 1904690.1)

Symptoms

On : 8.1.1.7 SIA [21238] version, Client Functionality

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Customer was having an issue when unmerging records.

However, there was also an issue when merging records.

It is suspected that the issue is the same for both merge and unmerge, so Support will try and resolve the error:
"Data Quality vendor-specific error : An error occured when calling function 'sdq_dedup_realtime_nomemory ()' in connector 'ISS':"(26) ISS API call failed ".Detailed error message : (SBL-APS-001188)(SBL-EAI-04451)

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR

It is expected that unmerging a record should happen without errors

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a contact record
2. Create a second contact record
3. The UI should show the duplicate popup applet, nothing is shown
4. However, in the logs the error seen is :
"Data Quality vendor-specific error : An error occured when calling function 'sdq_dedup_realtime_nomemory ()' in connector 'ISS':"(26) ISS API call failed ".Detailed error message : (SBL-APS-001188)(SBL-EAI-04451)

5. After reviewing the UCM logs, the further error of : "ORA-01407: cannot update ("SIEBEL"."S_CONTACT"."ACTIVE_FLG") to NULL " was identified to be the root cause
