Symptoms

According to the Certification tab in My Oracle Support, Siebel Version 8.1.1.10 is certified and supported on a Linux x86-64 bit operating system.

However, the installation of Siebel Fix Pack 8.1.1.10 on Oracle Enterprise Linux Version 5.x (x86-64bit) displays the following error messages:

Checking operating system requirements...
Expected result: One of oracle-6,oracle-6.1,oracle-6.2,redhat-4,SuSE-9,enterprise-4
Actual Result: oracle-5.8
Check complete. The overall result of this check is: Failed <<<<
Problem: Siebel 8.1 is not certified on the current operating system.
Recommendation: Make sure you are installing the software on the correct platform.
