OUI installer hangs - Check if the DISPLAY variable is set. Failed

Symptoms
For Siebel 8.1.1 + 8.1.1.8 full install, OUI installer is launched with below command,
./runInstaller -invPtrLoc /xx/xxx/oraInst.loc
Welcome screen and "Installation details and process" screen displays and then it hangs, and can't be closed, need to be killed.
The error reported:
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors
>>> Could not execute auto check for display colors using command /usr/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set. Failed <<<<
Some requirement checks failed. You must fulfill these requirements before
continuing with the installation,Continue? (y/n) [n]
Changes
Run strace for runInstaller and could see below error:

execve("/usr/bin/xdpyinfo ... = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
execve("/usr/X11R6/bin/xdpyinfo",... = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory)
