Symptoms

In the Consumer Goods application, the Acquire Categories functionality of Sales Volume Planning (SVP) is failing with the following errors:


STEPS
1. Launch the Consumer Goods application.
2. Set up a category-product hierarchy
2a. Navigate to the Administration - Catalog screen > SVP Categories view.
2b. In the All Categories list, create a new record and complete the necessary fields.

To perform the Acquire Categories action:

  Navigate to the Sales Volume Planning Administration screen.
  Click the Other Actions view tab.
  In the Other Actions form, create a new record.
  From the Action Type field drop-down list, select Acquire Categories.
  Fill in the Description field. For example, Fall Forecast - Acquire Categories.
  Click Execute Action.

  Result: The Status changes to Pending. After the categories are acquired, the Status changes to Complete and a dialog box appears, confirming that the action was successful.

Changes

The failure began occurring after new Products with a new Category were added.
