Open UI: Contact Merge process for 2 records is not merging all data in certain scenarios (Doc ID 1927507.1)

Symptoms

In Contact screen, in certain scenarios involving two records, the merged (surviving) record is missing information from the source record.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

a) Scenario 1

1. Create first Contact (Surviving Record) with
Last Name = Contact_A_Surv
First Name = Name_A
Mobile Phone # = +316111

2. Create second Contact (Source Record) with
Last Name = Contact_B_Src
First Name = Name_B
Work Phone # = +3120111
Email = email@email.com

3. Select the Source record then CTRL+ click on Survivor record. Navigate to menu Edit > Merge Contacts. After the Merge is completed the following record is left

Last Name = Contact_A_Surv
First Name = Name_A
Mobile Phone # = +316111
Work Phone # = empty
Email = empty


 

a) Scenario 2

1. Create first Contact (Surviving Record) with
Last Name = VinContact_A_Surv
First Name = VinName_A
Work Phone # = +3120887799
Email = em@em.com

2. Create second Contact (Source Record) with
Last Name = VinContact_B_Src
First Name = VinName_B
Mobile Phone # = +316111

3. Select the Source record then CTRL+ click on Survivor record. Navigate to menu Edit > Merge Contacts. After the Merge is completed the following record is left

Last Name = VinContact_A_Surv
First Name = VinName_A
Work Phone # = +3120887799
Email = em@em.com
Mobile Phone # = empty
