Records are available for Link and Update in the Siebel application > Sitemap > Administration - Siebel Universal Customer Master screen > Incoming Duplicates View after they have been processed by either the "UCM Batch Process" workflow or the UCM "OrganizationService" or "PersonService" web service and have been found as a match with score within the "UCM Data Quality" Business Service Manual Threshold and Auto Threshold user property values.

If a record falls into this threshold range, the record is not automatically merged, but rather queued up to be reviewed by a Data Steward to determine if manual merge is necessary or if the record should be created as a new record instead.

At the Incoming Duplicates View, the user has two options for handling the record:

a. Either click the {Create New} button to create the incoming record as a brand new record completely.

b. Or, click the {Link and Update} button to Link and Update (Upsert) the incoming record into the record which it is a potential match to.

These steps and example data are intended to help illustrate how to test and verify the the Siebel UCM Link and Update feature. The example uses Accounts, but the same steps can be applied to Contact records as well.

These steps have been tested by Oracle Support and confirmed to be working, thus you should perform the same steps (with the same example data) onsite to ensure it works in your environment. You may also use these steps to compare against your test case as part of the troubleshooting effort.
