Information in this document applies to any platform.
Siebel 8.1.x Communications Inbound Receiver component is unable to connect to POP3 server. The POP3 mailbox account/password have been verified and are OK.

Symptoms

On : 8.1.1.7 SIA [21238] version, Comms Server & Email Response

When attempting to use inbound email component
the following error occurs.

ERROR

POP3SMTP[01/05/2015 10:53:20:300]:ERROR:Timeout reading data from socket
POP3SMTP[01/05/2015 10:53:20:300]:ERROR:Socket error 10054: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host (peer).
POP3SMTP[01/05/2015 10:53:20:300]:ERROR:Error receiving data over socket
POP3SMTP[01/05/2015 10:53:20:300]:ERROR:Unable to connect to POP3 server mail.test1 on port 110

1. Configure email response
2. send an inbound email
