OUI with Screenreader - Show More/Show Less Link Purpose Is Not Sufficiently Clear (Doc ID 1968693.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2017

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 8.2.2.3 SIA [23021] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In Siebel OpenUI 8.2.2.3, the Show More/ Show Less link in the List Applet and Form applet doesn't have enough contextual information to tell the end users the purpose of activating those links. It should have programmatically determined link text to tell end users what is intended to be shown more or shown less. For example, Show More Account Record/Show Less Account Record etc....

Currently screen reader users cannot know how to differentiate between two Show More/Show Less buttons in the same page when two applets in the view have such buttons.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Setup the JAWS Screenreader with Siebel OpenUI.
2) When you navigate to a Siebel view (Say Accounts) and try to invoke the show more/show less option in the applet
3) The screen reader will say "Show More" or "Show Less"
4) It should say "Show more Accounts" or "Show less Accounts"

The context is being lost on this functionality.

This is not WCAG compliant
