After Following the implementation suggestion in "496937.1 - Invoke pick applet via a button"
With version 8 the same requirement can be implemented just with following button control properties:
Method Invoked = EditField
Field = (the field name)
Pick Applet = (the pick applet name)
and then adding the following script in the WebApplet_PreInvokeMethod:
the result is:
1) The new record is created and the picklist is opened.
2) The parent list applet shows no information related to the newly created record (From script). The UI is showing the same information as the record that had focus prior to the clicking of the button click.
3) After closing the Pick applet, either through Cancel or OK button, the UI then displays the newly created record. The UI did not reflect the actions that were taking place in the BC through the NewRecord in the script.
This behavior is seen in 188.8.131.52. There is a different behavior seen in 184.108.40.206, in Open UI, as in 220.127.116.11 the UI reflects a further disconnect from the actions taken against the BC.
