On Siebel 188.8.131.52.15 [IP2013] version, If a user enter on CTI Toolbar Edit Control box a text with a telephone number and the telephone number has German umlauts [mutated vowel ä, ü, ö, ß] in the dial string, Siebel do not send the string to the CTI Driver. It remove the German umlauts character such as ä and the next two characters causing an error when dialing this string.
Siebel should send the whole string to the CTI Driver, for example for regular no numeric character such as 701333a2244 the whole string is send to the CTI Driver and usually the CTI Driver clean the no numeric characters and dial.
Also the behavior can be observer using Dialing Filters and macro $DialingRuleMethod calling a custom BS. We can see when German umlauts the input argument for the BS method loose the German umlauts character ä and the next two characters in the dial string.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enter in the CTI Toolbar edit box a number with a German umlauts character in the middle such as 701333ä2244
2. You will see in the CTI Toolbar Work Item list the number 70133344 that is not the correct number.
