On a Pop-up Applet, the "DefaultAppletMethod" Is Not Working (Doc ID 1991196.1)

Last updated on JANUARY 27, 2020

Applies to:

Siebel Tools - Version [21211] to [IP2013] [Release V8]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The requirement is to have a pop-up applet configured with a button and a custom method.
The button becomes active by doing one of the following:
  - After the completion of partial information (not all the fields, only the mandatory ones), manually go with the mouse on the next empty field and then click (using the mouse) on the search button;
  - Go with TAB through all the fields until the button itself is reached (on focus) and then press Enter (on keyboard).

Search button must be activate after the conditions are met.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open the Pop-up
2. Enter First Name, Last Name
3a. It is necessary to hop in the next field to be able to search – ONLY via using your mouse NOT the keyboard, OR:
3b. Search Button is not activated/selected via Enter on keyboard, go through all the fields via TAB, and then the button can be used with Enter command.

 There is a new custom query, and the requirement is to have it called by "Enter" Action, in parallel with the actual query button that triggers the function. The problem appears because the "Enter" behavior must be set up to call the custom function.
