Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer is having issues in running srvrmgr command for a particular Linux user, customer expect to be able to login to srvrmgr using different Linux users

If we use srvrmgr login on Linux with Linux account usernameA in Linux Siebel Server serverA it works. Siebel Server is started with usernameA account on this Siebel Server.

But, from the same server, if we use a different Linux login such as usernameB, the srvrmgr is throwing an error and can connect. We can connect if we do not enter the /s and connect at Enterprise level, but once we give the command "list servers" it shows handshake failure messages on the output.

Logging to Linux machine as usernameA and the below works fine:
srvrmgr /g <Gateway hostname>:2320 /e <Enterprise Name> /s <serverA> /u <Siebel user ID> /p <Siebel user password>

Logging in to Linux machine as usernameB and the below does not work:
srvrmgr /g <Gateway hostname>:2320 /e <Enterprise Name> /s <serverA> /u <Siebel user ID> /p <Siebel user password>
