How to avoid UI navigation issues associated to Siebel Marketing - OpenUI integrated to OBI in OBI views displayed in iFrame. (Doc ID 2008422.1)

Last updated on JULY 03, 2023

Applies to:

Siebel Marketing - Version 8.1 [21039] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Some issues have been reported when navigating in OBI views displayed inside siebel from iFrames. The type of issues may vary but the cause  is  mainly associated to the occurrence of cross-site scripting while you are navigating in your browser through different sites . For example a siebel marketing sitehttp://<marketing.domain.name>/marketing_enu and a OBI site (embedded in iFrame view) > http://<obi.domain.name>:9704/analytics where both Siebel and ObI are on different servers.

If OBIEE and Siebel are running in the different hosts the solution is to use the suggested setup in the link:

http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/bi.1111/e16364/siebel_crm_integration.htm#BIEIT3307

It may be possible to use other approaches to make proxy settings but official documentation refers to Oracle Http Server.

The purpose of this document is make this information more easy to follow by providing an example on how to define OHS reverse proxy settings based on the document/link above.

In order to make this information more easy to follow this document is intended to provide an example on how these steps should be followed.

Note that the goal is to make the browser 'believe' that both siebel and OBI are on the same machine.
