Configuration of the second Siebel Enterprise Server fails (Doc ID 2023730.1)

Symptoms

Siebel Gateway Name Server is capable of maintaining multiple Siebel Enterprise Server (SES), especially for the development environment. However, the configuration utility (config.bat for Windows, config.sh for Unix/Linux) for the second SES fails with "invalid username/password" error. Here is how to reproduce the issue.

1) Make sure the first Siebel Enterprise Server, Siebel Database and Siebel Server have been setup and are running correctly.

2) Launch Siebel Enterprise Configuration utility (config.bat/config.sh -mode enterprise) and do the followings.

2-1) Select 'Create New Configuration'

2-2) Select 'Configure a new Enterprise in a Gateway Name Server'

2-3) Enter 'Gateway Name Server Authentication User Account Name' and corresponding password.

** For example, enter SADMIN as this is the existing user name for both Siebel and database.

2-4) Enter the 'Gateway Name Server Host Name' and 'Gateway Name Server TCP/IP Port'

2-5) When the Next button is clicked, error message is displayed as below.

X Unable to connect to the Siebel Gateway Name Server.
