In Open UI Type Ahead Using Shift Key is not Working in Search Applet Picklist Field (Doc ID 2036778.1)

Symptoms

When users presses the shift key and 'U' at the same time and then releases the shift key the U is greyed out and only the remaining letters are showing in the field as the search criteria

When the shift key is released the 'U' should not be greyed out and the full word should be showing in the field as the search criteria

Reproduction Steps:
1) Navigate to Opportunity Home Screen
2) Use "Opportunity Home Search Virtual Form Applet" to Query Some Records based on Controls which have LOV/Picklist Associated e.g. "Sales Stage"
3) Hold down Shift key and lowercase u so a capital U appears in the search
4) Release shift key and continue typing "niverse"

Note that the capital 'U' gets cleared from the search string. The issue only occurs the first time and works fine post that.
