Double Click In Popup Applet To Select Record Not Working (Doc ID 2044873.1)

Symptoms

We upgraded from 7.8 to 8.1, and this issue happens after they upgrade. We are still using 7.8 in production, and there is no such a problem.

We have 4 environments here all on 8.1.1.11.16. In our pre-production and production environment we are seeing an issue where when you double click on a record in a picklist in a popup applet, it selects the record, but does not close the applet. However, if you double click on the same record again, it selects and closes the applet. Or, if you double click on a different record in that applet, it will select it, but not close it. This behavior does not occur in our QA or DEV environments. In the same environment, it seems to happen in some areas and not others. For example, selecting a parent account, which does not have any eScript or customization it happens or selecting a product on a Quote line item which has lots of custom eScript. We are running on high interactivity with Internet Explorer version 8.0.7601.17514

In pre-production and production I have tried the vanilla SRF and I was able to reproduce the problem. However, I'm not able to try again in production with the vanilla SRF since we are going live on this environment this weekend and will have to stay on the custom SRF. I am also able to reproduce this on the custom SRF, even on views/applets/BCs that are not customized. For example, it happens on the Administration - List Of Values view when selecting the parent LOV even though none of these objects have been modified from vanilla.

Yes there are two sets of environments, It does happen for all users, but only in our pre-production and production systems;and in QA and DEV, I was not able to reproduce this problem at all with a custom or vanilla SRF.

Repro Steps

In pre-production and production it can be reproduced with the following steps:


1. Go to Administration - Data > List of Values
2. Query to select Parent LIC = is not null.
3. Pick one record, click on the button in 'Parent LIC' field to open the Pick Window.
4. Double click the 1st field randomly on any record, it is selected/highlighted but the window is not closed, they can click on OK button to choose it and the window is closed.
