How To Determine If Siebel File System Manager Component (FSMsrvr) Is Performing Well
(Doc ID 2052099.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 02, 2024
Applies to:
Siebel CRM - Version 17.0 [IP2017] and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
This document is intended to give some information how the performance of the FSMsrvr component can be analyzed. Siebel Filesystem is a critical system component and frequently there are requests on how to tune this component.
Before it comes to tuning, the first step is to look at current performance to understand how fast access to the file system actually is.
Given the complex file processing architecture, it is not a simple task to measure File access performance in a large production deployment and then identify the bottleneck.
For example, the performance of filesystem access can depend on the configuration of the FSMsrvr itself, or there might be a need to re-partition the filesystem or to tune the operating system or NFS server that hosts the filesystem or even to tune the hardware itself.
This note will give some hints how such problem can be narrowed down by looking at the extended component log files.
Scope
This document is addressed to Siebel system administrators, looking for a better File System Manager Component performance.
