Open UI SmartScript: Changing Currency Returns Error "Can't Convert formatted string to its internal representation" (Doc ID 2068231.1)

Symptoms

In Siebel version 15.4 [IP2015], SmartScript

When attempting to use a Default Currency Answer Control Detail Applet an error occurs when trying to select the Currency Code.
This occurs in Open UI, but not in High Interactivity application.

ERROR

"Can't Convert formatted string to its internal representation. Check if your data is in correct format"


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Configure SmartScript with Question using Default Answer Control of Currency
2. Run SmartScript
3. Click on Currency glyph and change curency code, observe error

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot use Default Currency Applet Control
