Duplicate Entries In Audit Trail When Deleting Account Promotion in Consumer Goods

Symptoms


Duplicate entries occur in Audit Trail after deleting an Account Promotion. 


STEPS

1. Launch Consumer Goods application in Open UI.

2. Define Audit Trail on CPG Plan Account Promotion and CS CG Plan Account Promotion Category.
    Go to Administration - Audit Trail:
        Create new records with the following:
        BusComp: CPG Plan Account Promotion [Table: S_SRC]
        Fields:  Promotion
                   Period Start
                   % ACV Promoted


       BusComp: CS CG Plan Account Promotion Category  [Table: S_SRC]
       Fields to Audit:
                   Account
                   % ACV Promoted
 

3. Press Update Audit Cache button.

4. Log out and then log back in to the Consumer Goods application.

5. Create 5 Accounts:  
    a. Go to Accounts > Accounts List
    b. Create 5 Accounts (Example: ABC-1, ABC-2, ABC-3, ABC-4, ABC-5).

6. Create Category: XYZ

7. Associate the XYZ Category to each of the 5 Accounts:
   a. Go to Administration - Catalog > Account Categories
   b. Drill down on the first Account
   c. Go to Categories tab
   d. Add Category to the Account
   e. Repeat the process, adding the XYZ Category to each of the other 4 Accounts.

8. Create Promotion:
    a. Go to Promotions > Account Promotions List
    b. Create new Promotion
    c. Assign Promotion to ONE of the 5 Accounts created.

9. Drill Down on Promotion
   Go to Promoted Categories
   Add the Category XYZ to the Promotion.

10. Check Audit Trail:
     a. Go to Site Map > Audit Trail
     b. Confirm the New records were captured for Account Promotion.

11. Delete the Promotion:
     a. Go to Promotions > Account Promotions List
     b. Select newly created Account Promotion having the XYZ Category (that is associated to 5 Accounts)
     c. Delete this one Account Promotion.

12. Check Audit Trail:
     a. Go to Site Map > Audit Trail
     b. Review the Delete records that were captured for Account Promotion.


Result: A series of duplicate Delete records are captured.

Audit Trail generated duplicate "Deletes" for the one deleted Account Promotion.
The series of Deletes were repeated 5 times (i.e., 5 different Accounts were associated to the Category). 

Data from Audit Trail:

For BC CS CG Plan Account Promotion Category, changes to the Account field and % Promoted ACV field are repeated 5 times with only a difference in times:  10:14:10, 10:14:17, 10:14:23, 10:14:27, 10:14:30.

The field % Promoted ACV shows Base Table is S_SRC and S_SRC_CHNL (Extension Table).

Activity appears to be occurring in the Extension table of S_SRC.
