FILTER BY Option on Siebel Search results view Not Working Properly In OpenUI (Doc ID 2097795.1)

Last updated on MARCH 02, 2017

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 8.1.1.14.5 [IP2014] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 8.1.1.14.5 [IP2014] version, System Admin

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
In OpenUI when Siebel Search results are displayed, the 'Filter By' button is used to list the dynamic repeated search terms. When one of these dynamic keywords is clicked, a new set of results that match original search AND just clicked dynamic keyword should be displayed. However the new results set only match the clicked dynamic keyword.
In HI, the refine (dynamic) keywords feature is working as expected: the selected dynamic keyword is append with AND Boolean operator to the previous search term

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Dynamic keywords are generated by Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (OSES), and if available, they are listed when 'Filter By' button is clicked. After obtaining results of a search, the user can further refine the results based on dynamically generated keywords. The selected keyword is processed with the previous search criteria in a Boolean AND operation. On further refining with additional keywords, the new keywords will be appended to the last executed search criteria.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Siebel Search has been configured: Siebel and OSES have been integrated.
2. Siebel data has been index and crawled successful; also search operation work fine.
3. In HI where results are configured to be displayed at the right side of the view, execute a search operation, i.e.: test. At the "Refine your search using these keywords found in the results" section, a list of dynamic keywords may be listed. Click any of them (i.e.: cst.), a new search operation will be executed with previous search term plus just selected dynamic keyword, i.e.: test AND cst.
4. In OpenUI execute a search operation, i.e.: test. Then click the 'Filter By' option; if OSES has generated dynamic keywords, a list of them is displayed. Click any of them (i.e.: cst.); a new search operation is executed, but it only uses the selected dynamic keyword as search term, i.e.: cst
