Symptoms

On : 8.1.1.14.5 [IP2014] version, System Admin

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Wildcard search is not working

Wildcard "*" search is not returning results as expected. Please see the below behavior.

1 - COS Implementation man – 46 records (which seems to be matching man, manning, Mansfield, managed .. these are the ones I checked)
2 - COS Implementation man* - this search seems to give you same 46 records as above
3 - COS Implementation man*g – 0 records returned for this one, but ..
4 - COS Implementation manning – I get what looks like same 46 records above
5 - COS Implementation man*l – again 0
6 - COS Implementation manual – 488
7 - COS Implementation – gives you 48391
8 - COS Imple*tion – again 0

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Wild card search should work as expected when the * used in the middle of the word

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

Log in to siebel application and select on Advanced search and perform below search :

1 - COS Implementation man*g – 0 records returned for this one
2 - COS Implementation man*l – again 0
3 - COS Implementation manual – 488
4 - COS Implementation – gives you 48391
5 - COS Imple*tion – again 0

When using * in the middle of the word or in between two letters its not returning results
