Installation with Migration Option Fails "Access is Denied" (Doc ID 2135868.1)

Symptoms



When attempting to do migrate installation for IP2015 the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------

"Unable to rename Directory:

Access is Denied"

 

 

If using Process Monitor (from sysinternal.com) , the following error appears:

2:56:38.3545689 PM cmd.exe 1444 SetRenameInformationFile D:\Siebel\8\ses ACCESS DENIED ReplaceIfExists: False, FileName: D:\Siebel\8\ses_pre15.0.0.0.0
2:56:38.3546479 PM cmd.exe 1444 CloseFile D:\Siebel\8 SUCCESS



STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will at Customer with the following steps:
1. Run the installer IP2015 in the Migrate installation (it can happen in higher versions)
2. The above error occurs.
