Last updated on DECEMBER 23, 2016

Applies to:

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Creating New Workspaces in Siebel tools

When creating a workspace hierarchy tree, each workspace will be branched form it's parent workspace.

Can a new workspace be created under a parent workspace other than main?In other words, can a multi-level workspace hierarchy be set up, like below:

Main
> Workspace A
> Workspace B
    >> Workspace B1
    >> Workspace B2

In the documentation it is stated that parent workspace's name is populated automatically. See below link and statement from the bookshelf.

Creating New Workspaces - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E74890_01/books/UsingTools/using_siebel_tools35.html

Statement:
"3.Note the values in the Parent Workspace and Parent Workspace Version fields.
By default, the newly recreated workspace is always branched out from the latest version of the MAIN workspace; therefore, the Parent Workspace field is populated with the value MAIN and the Parent Workspace Version field is populated with the latest check-pointed version of the MAIN workspace."
