Issue with VARCHAR(MAX) database columns.
Current issue is seen on an upgraded Environment, from Siebel SEA version 184.108.40.206 to version 220.127.116.11 Siebel PS 9 SIA. Operating system: Windows 2008 R2, DB is SQL Server 2008 SP3.
The TEXT database columns have been changed by the upgrade program to VARCHAR(MAX) whereas the related objects (tables, bc, applet) have the same configurations both in Siebel Tools v7.8 and v8.1.
However if the value length of VARCHAR(MAX) columns is less small than (around) 2k characters, Siebel is able to retrieve all records without any issues. Instead, above 2k characters, Siebel is not able to retrieve any records and the egg timer appears.
This issue occurs both for old records and new records.
In more detail the issue occurs on:
1. TMPL_TEXT column of S_DMND_CRTN_PRG table
2. EMAIL_BODY column of S_EVT_MAIL table
Creating a new column of VARCHAR(MAX) type and mapping it on a new user interface (bc, applet, view) does not fix the behavior.
Above 2k characters, Siebel should be able to retrieve any records.
