Email Merge Fields cannot use a 1:M relationship

Customer had configured the Marketing application:
- Customer added a merge fields called 'Order number'
- In the db there are multiple order numbers for the contact.
- Ideally the customer would like to have a way to add all order numbers to the email using the merge fields functionality.
Currently all that happens is the first record is used and all subsequent records are not shown in the email
