Siebel Authentication and Session Management (WSSOAP=1) vs Web Services Security (WS-Security) Comparison Chart/Table (Doc ID 2176743.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 03, 2023

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 15.0 [IP2015] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The Siebel Session Management and Authentication SOAP headers are different from the SOAP headers used for WS-Security. Do not use the two types of header together.

They are not the same and the set up for each type cannot be interchanged between each other.

The following document provides a side-by-side comparison and highlight of all elements involved with Siebel Inbound WebServices using 2 different Authentication Options: Siebel Authentication and Session Management (WSSOAP=1) vs Web Services Security (WS-Security).

The chart/table information can also be used as a checklist of items to review, to verify/confirm that all elements involved with the web service setup are in place in the environment and to assist in troubleshooting the web service setup/execution issues.
