Installation Guide For Siebel PATCHSET 5 (Doc ID 2187310.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 03, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 16.0 [IP2016] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

When reviewing the 16.5 PATCHSET Readme located here:
It has the following statements under the Pre Installation Tasks section:

"An updated SRF file is available for version 15.5. Obtain this file from separate Siebel media on My Oracle Support, using part number 22145965. After you have installed Siebel Patchset 5 or later, you require this updated SRF file in either of the following cases:
  - You require the version 15.5 SRF file in order to run Siebel Business Applications after you perform a new database installation.
  - You require the version 15.5 SRF file in order to run Incremental Repository Merge. (It is not necessary to compile the New Siebel Repository SRF for this purpose.)
NOTE: Siebel Innovation Pack 2015, Patchset 5 or later includes some optional features that involve changes to the Siebel Repository. These features are already included if you install a new Siebel database after installing Siebel Innovation Pack 2015, Patchset 5 or later. For an existing installation of Siebel Innovation Pack 2015, if you want to use these features, you must run Incremental Repository Merge after installing the patchset release. (If you have already run Incremental Repository Merge for Patchset 5 or later, then you do not need to run it again for subsequent patchset releases.) For more information about Incremental Repository Merge, see Siebel Database Upgrade Guide."

It refers to IP 2015 and a 15.5 repository, NOT IP 2016 and a 16.5, causing confusion

When applying Patchset 16.5 to a 16.0 installation are there any DB or repository tasks required as part of the installation?
