Unable To Update Calendar Appointments After Upgrading Application

After upgrading the Siebel Open UI application from IP2015 to IP2016, users are not able to update calendar appointments.
The following errors display when trying to update a calendar appointment that was created prior to the IP2016 upgrade:
There is no issue with the newly created appointments; the issue only occurs with records that were created prior to IP2016 upgrade.
Users should be able to update calendar appointments that were created prior to the IP2016 upgrade
STEPS TO REPLICATE THE BEHAVIOR
1. Login to Siebel application and click on Calendar view tab
2. Select a month in the past i.e. prior to IP 2016 upgrade
3. Now drill down on a appointment which has a status other than Done
4. In the calendar detail applet try to update any field and save the appointment.
SBL-UIF-00299: Wrong field values or value types detected in field Status. Please re-enter your field values. If you need additional assistance, please refer to the documentation.
SBL-DAT-00474: Invalid operation while not in update mode.
