Not Able To Update Field Value To NULL Using Siebel Vanilla Menu Import (Doc ID 2217371.1)

Symptoms

Using vanilla menu import, we want to update some fields to NULL. e.g. If field1 has value "XYZ" in database and we pass that field value as blank in the import file. we are expecting that field to be updated to NULL in the database. But that is not happening as expected. We have tried using keywords as "NULL", "null", etc along with blank value but none of these worked for us.

Steps

1. Go to contact screen.
2. Click Menu - Import
3. Try to update an existing record with null value in one for the column
4. The field does not gets updated the old value remains.
5. if you give any other value apart from blank/null it gets updated
