The purpose of this Document is to provide a step by step installation and configuration of new Siebel CRM CalDAV and CardDAV support introduce in Innovation Pack 2016 PatchSet 5.
Currently the recommendation is for any customer trying to implement Siebel CalDAV/CardDAV to install Siebel IP 2016 PatchSet 5 on higher, see Document ID 1614310.1 "Siebel Patchset Installation Guide for Siebel CRM", on My Oracle Support.
Scope
How to setup the new CalDAV and CardDAV feature introduced in Siebel Innovation Pack 2016.
This Document provides information about configuring your Siebel CRM environment to support CalDAV or CardDAV publishing. CalDAV (Calendaring Extensions to WebDAV) is an internet standard designed to allow users to access and share calendar data on a remote server. CardDAV (vCard Extensions to WebDAV) is a client-server protocol designed to allow users to access and share address book or contact data on a server. These standards allow users to view external contact or calendar information in Siebel Business Applications.
Siebel CalDAV Connectivity
Provides integration between any CalDAV compliant client and Siebel Calendar
Users can register their Siebel Calendar in any native CalDAV compliant calendar client
iOS native Calendar
Android native Calendar, requires a 3rd party CalDAV client
Popular Desktop Applications, such as Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes although this might require a 3rd party CalDAV plugin
Automatic bidirectional data exchange between the Siebel calendar instance registered in the native client and the Siebel Calendar on the Siebel Enterprise Server
Siebel CardDav Connectivity
CardDAV allows the synchronization of Contacts from Siebel to the native device Contact Application
Integrated Siebel CardDAV Server, provides integration between the Siebel Contacts and any CardDAV-compliant client, including native iOS and Android Contacts
User can register their Siebel Contacts in any native CardDAV compliant calendar client:
iOS Calendar
Android Calendars, requires a 3rd Party CalDAV client
Popular Desktop Applications (MS Outlook, Lotus Notes), requires a 3rd Party CardDAV plugin
Automatic data exchange between the Siebel Contact instance registered in the native client and the Siebel Contact on the Siebel Enterprise Server
Limitations for CardDAV in Innocation Pack 2016:
iOS devices will create the local version of the contact which will be merged with the server version into one Contact on the iOS devices
Android devices will display the contact based on the client
