Communication Buttons Inactive For Outbound Email Activity

Information in this document applies to any platform.
When from Application we are sending email, the outbound activity is getting created from 'Comm Outbound Email' BC. For this the display value has been stamped as 'Communication and Activities'. For this we are able to navigate to the Communication view. But the Reply, Reply All and Forward buttons are inactive for this communication.
Buttons are getting only activated when the status of the activity is Closed. But for all other status it remains inactive.
