How To Uncompress Siebel File Attachments to there Original File Format in Solaris (UNIX) box? (Doc ID 2238106.1)

Last updated on MARCH 01, 2018

Applies to:

Siebel Communications CRM - Version [IP2014] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

We have a requirement to upload a file (say .msg; .txt) from Siebel GUI and then use this original file (uncompressed) to be transferred to another external server box.

We tested with attaching a file in Siebel SR> Attachments and found the file/s are stored in /att directory in a .SAF format. After going through "Modifying the Siebel File System (Master Note) (Doc ID 1469443.1)" we discovered following utilities to retrieve the original file formats.

1. sseunzip.exe
2. ssemuzip.exe

But the constraint here is the same utilities are mentioned to be found in Siebel server (Windows) and we are unable to locate the same utilities in our Solaris (UNIX) box.

Request your assistance for an Insight of the process to be followed for UNIX (Siebel server) based boxes.
