Last updated on JULY 12, 2017

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 15.18 [IP2015] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 15.18 [IP2015] version, Comms Server & Email Response

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------

Outbound Communications Manager is uploading attachments that have a dot[.] in the filename, without extension. So we basically have the dot sign twice in the complete name if you include the dot before extension(For example: "test.test.pdf").

Whenever a File that has no dot in its name, is attached, the received email has that attachment with extension.
In case of a file which has a dot in its name, it doesn't have an extension when it arrives in outlook as an email attachment. When trying to open the attachment it pops the application list which will open the document.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Whenever a File that has dot in its name, is attached, the received email should have the attachment with extension.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Send an email with an attachment that has dot in its name. For example: "test.test.pdf"
2. Send an email with an attachment that doesn't has dot in its name.
3. Notice that in case of a file which has a dot in its name, it doesn't have an extension when it arrives in outlook as an email attachment.
