Siebel Mobile: Cannot Login into Application using Android device

Unable to login to Siebel Sales Mobile application from Siebel Android App installed from Google Play Store (version 2.17.2)
On adding Host address URL on first screen, the app is loading the list of available Mobile applications but when selecting one, after entering the credentials, login cannot complete - and Open UI login screen appears again
In device application logs (Siebel.txt, Siebel.txt.bak) following lines appear:
Uncaught ReferenceError: MAF_Login is not defined
Uncaught ReferenceError: cordova is not defined
When testing the login to same Sales Mobile application from a browser session on same device or even with same Siebel Android app on a different device, login was completing fine.
Logging in should happen and application should work - like when trying from browser session on the same Mobile device.
The issue can be reproduced at will in customer's environment with the following steps:
1. Setup Siebel Mobile application as per Bookshelf details;
2. Install Siebel Mobile 2.17.2 version from Google Play Store on Mobile device (- latest one available at the time this Note was published);
3. Start that Siebel application, input Host Address, select the Mobile application and try to Login.
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, Mobile users cannot Login and use the application.
