Siebel IP17 Inbound Application And Outbound Container URL Formats and Examples
(Doc ID 2335535.1)
Last updated on OCTOBER 28, 2019
The Siebel IP17 no longer has a Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE), it has been replaced by the Siebel Application Interface and the requests/connections into Siebel web layer are now secured. As a result, this also changes the protocol of the inbound requests from http to https as well as the format of the Inbound URLs for the Siebel web applications.
The tabs will provide the new IP17 URL formats and examples for some commonly used web applications and functionalities in IP17.
The Siebel Application Interface: Siebel Application Interface is a module that enables communication between Siebel Web Clients and Siebel Servers. In Siebel Innovation Pack 2017, the Siebel Application Interface replaces the Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE). For information about installing and configuring Siebel Application Interface, see the Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.
The Siebel Application Container: To allow support of some new features within Siebel IP17 such as Outbound SHA2 support, Outbound RESTFul API and Java 64 bit support, the Siebel application server (SES) also has an Application Container that executes these features.
The IP17 URL formats and example use the following Port Numbers for illustration:
- Siebel Application Interface (AI) HTTPS Port: 8011 ; Used for inbound connections into the Siebel environment such as for Siebel Web Client to Application Object Manager, Inbound RESTFul API, Inbound Web Services, Inbound HTTP Requests.
- Siebel Server (SES) HTTP Port: 8002 ; Used for outbound connections from Siebel application server to the application container (and then from the container to external system) for outbound requests such as Outbound REST, Outbound EAI HTTP/HTTPS, Outbound Web Services, Outbound Java/JMS Integrations.
Please substitute the AI HTTPS Port and SES HTTP Port values with the correct values for the onsite Siebel application environment.
