SSSE: MS Outlook Add-Ins Does Not Display Siebel Links

Symptoms

The users noticed that after installing the SSSE Outlook Add-In on Outlook 2013/2016 doesn't display the Siebel Toolbar on Contacts/Calendar/Task items that would allow a user to easily link to a Siebel object and jump to the Siebel application.

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Install the Outlook Add-in with the 8.1.1SIA[21111] base build files. 

2. Navigate to install location¿s bin folder. (i.e C:\Program Files (x86)\Siebel\8.1\Outlook Add-In\bin) 

3. Back up and remove the following dlls from the folder: 

siebolaimod.dll 

sslcrsa56.dll 

sslcrsa.dll 

sscfcmn.dll 

sslcosd.dll 

sslcshar.dll 

sslczlib.dll 

sslcsym.dll 

siebolaires.dll 

libarm.dll 

sslcosa.dll 

 

4. Create the subfolder on C:\Program Files (x86)\Siebel\8.1\Outlook Add-In\data\<windows log in user>\cache 

For example: 

C:\Program Files (x86)\Siebel\8.1\Outlook Add-In\data\frosado\cache

 

5. Install the IP16.0 Base Outlook Add-in with the modified install steps listed in Document:2071284.1 

6. Review above dlls in the Outlook Add-in folder to ensure that they are added back after installation is complete and check that the subfolder on C:\Program Files (x86)\Siebel\8.1\Outlook Add-In\data\<windows log in user>\cache, still exist. 

7. Start Outlook 2013/2016 and created a calendar activity and notified that Outlook not displaying the Siebel Toolbar on Contacts/Calendar/Task items that would allow a user to easily link to a Siebel object and jump to the Siebel application.
