Determine Locale Code Of Application in Siebel OpenUI (Doc ID 2356751.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 02, 2018

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 16.11 [IP2016] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Use Javascript to determine which language the Siebel application is running.  Use this in a case such as:

When the user presses the help button, we want to be able to display a help popup in the language that they are working is.  So for example, if I am in Mexico and my app is in Spanish, when I press the help button, it will popup a help page that is in Spanish.  As well, we have 4 different apps (call center, marketing, mobile, etc) and we need that help to be context sensitive to the screen they are on and the application they are using.  I currently have a Post Load javascript file that is able to send the Application Name and Business Object to a business Service in Siebel that will generate a help page that is passed back to the client and the javascript then displays a new browser window with the help in it.  The last parameter I need to add to the script is the language so that the business service can generate the language specific help file.
