On : 16.17 [IP2016] version, Siebel Marketing

ESD/CTD/BHD Does Not Start after Java JDK Upgrade

ESD/CTD/BHD has been working for some time. After upgrading the Java JDK to a higher version, the daemon Windows service no longer starts. When trying to start the Windows services, the service stops and throws an error.

ERROR
-----------------------
Some errors encountered.

Windows could not start the Siebel Click Through Daemon on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service specific error code 0.

Or

The Siebel Bounce Handling Daemon service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Have an existing installation of ESD/CTD/BHD already installed with Java JDK.
2. Upgrade Java JDK to a higher version.
3. The EMS Daemon no longer starts up.

BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
Due to this, unable to use any of the Email Marketing Server component.
