Last updated on FEBRUARY 06, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel CRM - Version 17.5 [IP2017] and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On : 17.5 [IP2017] version, Siebel EAI

EAI Object Manager session timeout set at the SMC (Siebel Management Console) is not being honored.
No matter the setting in SMC, it only times out at 60 minutes.

Whenever an EAI task is idle for longer than the session timeout setting at the SMC for the EAI application , the task should log off automatically.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set session timeout for the EAI application to 15 minutes.
2. Invoke a web service using WS-Security, so it leaves a task open and idle once the response is sent.
3. Wait 16 minutes. Notice in server manager (or in the task log) the task is still idle. It did not log off.
4. wait 61 minutes and notice it did log off at 60 minutes.

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot choose when to time out idle sessions.
This reduces the ability to fine tune the environment for performance and resources utilization.
Customers with very heavy inbound webservice traffic may be unable to tune the application sufficiently for production use.
