Global Search Long running query issue

The free text search provided in IP17, there are long running queries being formed which are causing slowness in db. The queries formed are ((T31.INT_ORG_FLG != 'Y' OR T31.PRTNR_FLG != 'N') AND T31.ACCNT_FLG != 'N')) AND
  ((T31.OU_NUM) LIKE '%XXXXXXX%' OR T31.NAME LIKE '%XXXXXX%'); of this nature and return results in a few minutes. This is a very critical step for us in the journey and hence has a major business impact.


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Just type some account name and selected the in Account from the typeahead that appears on the search

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users facing performance issue for freetext search provided in IP17  .
