Required Field Validation Get Triggered While Selecting Account in Sales Order Screen

When attempting to create a new Sales Order, on selecting on Account from the pick applet, the requirement field validation gets triggered even  before the record is being saved. 

'<>' is a required field. Please enter a value for the field. (SBL-DAT-00498)

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Open Siebel Application
2. Go to Sales Orders > create a new order > select the customer account name
