Applet Webtemplate Inaccessible after Disabling ST Scripting Engine For The Web Tools (Doc ID 2451350.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 30, 2019

Applies to:

Siebel Tools - Version 18.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

User was not able to access the 'Web Template' object in Web Tools Object Explorer. The cause of this issue was the "Enable ST Engine" System Preference is set to FALSE in their environment.

After setting this System Preference to TRUE, user was able to access 'Web Template' object in Web Tools, and can edit the web template code, and preview.

Error:

Unable to load the scripting extension language DLL '<?>'! Scripting was enabled in this instance of Siebel, but the DLL which is needed to implement it could not be loaded.(SBL-DAT-00228)

Only way to change the scripting engine parameter is through System Preferences.

Can customer enable ST Scripting Engine only for the Web Tools object manager, so that they may continue to use the older scripting engine in the Public Sector object manager?
