DISA Not Working When Siebel Application URL Does Not Contains The Full Qualified Domain Name (Doc ID 2506745.1)

Symptoms

DISA not working when using HTTPS and the URL is not using the Full Qualified Domain Name to start the Siebel Application on browser.

Customer installed DISA in their local PC and also imported the certificate as specified in Bookshelf>Desktop Integration Siebel Agent Guide > Generating and Deploying DISA Certificate > Setting Up DISA Environments and Generating DISA Certificates> Enabling DISA for Siebel HTTPS Environment

The following error when we navigate to the Attachments view.
"Cannot communicate with Desktop Integration Siebel Agent!
Please check firewall settings of your machine and make sure it can connect to Siebel Server. (SBL-UIJ-52896)"


The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Call the Siebel Application using a URL using HTTPS but not enter the Full Qualified Domain Name.
2.Goto Site Map>Contacts
2. Drill down on a Contact record
3. Go to Attachment applets
4. Drill down on an Attachment name, it will try to open the file for editing.
5. The error above show up.
