Siebel IP17 - How To Differentiate Between Standard Web Template and Customized WebTemplate (Doc ID 2512699.1)

Goal

Before IP17 webtemplates were physical files with *.swt extension, stored in specific folders.
In case a standard web templates was modified it was possible to differentiate from standard "out of box" because it was saved in a separated folder for example "webtempl\ouiwebtempl\custom" folder and standard file remained as it is in "webtempl\ouiwebtempl folder.
In case of a patchset or upgrade to next version, the web templates in CUSTOM folder were left untouched and new standard files were created in standard folder.

Starting IP17 web templates are converted into .OD files and saved into the database, how to handle changes introduced in case of an Update/Upgrade on this modified webtemplates?
