How To Decide Honormaxtasks Parameter Recommended Value? (Doc ID 2513280.1)

1. What is the component behavior in case when Max Tasks parameter value is reached and the component has HonorMaxTasks behavior = True/False and Mode = DirectDB ?

2. If HonorMaxTasks = false (Default Value) and component crashed due to any reason, then all active tasks related that process went to Error status and does not pick up any requests, so all active tasks will be lost.

As per the information available in below link, the recommended value for "HonorMaxTasks" is False:

Siebel Performance Tuning Guide > Tuning the Siebel Server Infrastructure > Tuning Server Request Broker (SRBroker)

When the component crashes, there are more number of tasks errorred out then compared to the number of tasks lost in case of "HonorMaxTasks" = True.

Given this, why is the recommended value for this parameter set to False?
