How can the application be configured to maintain the fractional value in the Quantity field for Siebel Dealer Management?

Users have a requirement to map the process of selling oil in the application.
Since oil can be sold in units of milliliters (ml), there will be fractional data in the quantity bucket for inventory.

Example:
Given a bottle of Oil of 1 liter (bucket Quantity is 1 )  and 200 ML is used from it, then the remaining inventory is 1 Liter - 200 ML = .8 liter; thus, leading to fractional data in inventory.
