Siebel Server Fails To Startup And SRBroker Component Terminates Database Connection With ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified" error (Doc ID 2582626.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to start the Siebel server post new installation or any database changes, the Siebel server fails to start up and SRBroker shows the below errors:

 

Steps to Repro:

1. Perform new installation or perform any DB configuration.

2. Startup the Siebel server and check to see if the system components are coming up

3. Check to see if the Siebel server goes down immediately upon startup and if there are errors in SRBroker,SRProc component stating database initialization terminated.


When attempting to connect to the database using odbcsql utility from $SIEBEL_ROOT/siebsrvr/bin directory with odbcsql /s servicename /u dbuser /p dbpassword, below error will be seen:

ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified
